Dear Tekton Clients…

Re: Speaker Grilles

Dear Tekton Design Loudspeaker Owners:

I have 3 beautiful sons age 10, 8 and 4. I love them with all of my heart. These little men are my entire world! However, on 7 February 2011, my world was rocked by tragedy.  Almost 4 years ago to the day, my precious sons were kidnapped from me by my (now former) wife in Washington State. My sons are still gone and it is day 1453. I have repeatedly appealed to the FBI, the courts, the police, detectives, and prosecutors for relief —all to no avail. As of today, I believe that only a divine miracle will place my missing sons in my arms again. Becoming a victim of spousal/parental child abduction has been hardest thing for me to endure—it has become the most intense trial of my life. And, however hard it has been for me, my sons have had the hardest part of all. As part of the tragedy, a divorce petition was filed on 16 November 2012. Unfortunately, this petition included a court-issued financial Restraining Order that prohibited me from making a single unjustified expense or investment until the divorce was finalized. This Restraining Order also kept me from seeking or obtaining credit of any type. On top of this, only weeks later, I was awarded a Loudspeaker of the Year award for my Pendragon design and a Writers’ Choice award for my Lore model. These awards became both a literal blessing and a curse. Imagine trying to grow a new, small, and unknown company under these financial conditions…

To date, I have honored the court-ordered sanctions placed upon me, and I have worked to exhaustion to keep my integrity. I only brought on my first employee when I felt truly justified from being held in contempt: I was behind on production with over 100 more loudspeaker orders to fulfill. This was in Spring 2013, and we have been growing since then. In retrospect, I can honestly say that we survived only through the grace of God and the world’s most amazing clients! It is mind-blowing to think that not only did we survive, but we thrived under appalling restrictions and imposed sanctions.

Since then, I have assembled an amazing and talented audio team, whom I truly believe are the greatest help in the world. We are here to personally serve you. We all passionately love what we do. For nearly a year now we have been fulfilling orders on every speaker we produce in our stock on a daily basis without delay. We have honed and refined Tekton’s finishing process to near-perfection. We are currently producing non-stop. As of today, we have every model we produce on the shelf ready to ship. We also have many custom projects and finishes available for immediate shipment as well. We are in the midst of truly exciting times at Tekton Design!

Even though we strive for perfect customer service, I know that there were some customers that fell through the cracks while I worked to recover my missing sons. I sincerely apologize from the depths of humility to anyone I have let down or somehow offended while I have been faced with enduring this divorce trial and kidnapping tragedy.

Of utmost importance, I encourage anyone still requiring grilles (especially the few that might have paid for them that I might not be aware of) or wishing to add grilles to their Tekton Design loudspeakers to please contact me directly and immediately. I will happily accommodate your request, and I will produce any needed item promptly: I will personally see to it that you receive your grilles. I sincerely apologize for any frustration or delays I have caused anyone at any time.

I truly love what I do with a passion, but more importantly, maintaining personal integrity is my highest priority. Thanks for your patience with me through this trial and thanks for your faith and loyalty in my work. Thank you for being the greatest clients in the world!

Sincerely,

Eric Alexander

  1. Eric,
Being a father I can’t imagine enduring what you’ve gone through. I hope you continue to find the strength within yourself to go on knowing that you will one day be united with your sons. They need you to remain strong.

Looking towards the positive you’ve been blessed with the gift to build a product many people will line up to buy, often sight unseen. Speaking for myself that product has brought me happiness and hopefully provided you with some financial ability to fight the battle you find yourself in. I read that you have endured criticism for late and non delivery of products but now that the reason for those anomalies is public I’m sure, to a person, they are forgiven.

I’m going to go listen to my Lore S’s as I get ready for my day and I’m sending good thoughts your way.

    Take care.

  2. Hang in there, you still make the best dam speakers aound

  3. Hello Eric,

My heart broke reading your story.

I defended you on a Audiogon thread some months back about speaker grills. I knew in my gut there was some legitimate unknown reason why the complaining Audiogon member did not receive his speaker grills in a timely manner. Though empathetic to the complainant, most of the Audiogon members supported you reasoning that there must be mitigating circumstances and gave you the benefit of doubt. The heartbreaking letter above certainly clears this matter up.

As a former small business owner in an extremely volatile and competitive field I fully appreciate your situation. So do many others.

I want to tell you that I love your speakers. I own your 4.5, M-lore and Lore. I only bought the 4.5 from you directly and aquired the others second-hand. You deserve the awards and accolades. To have high efficiency, 8 ohm impedance speakers manufactured to your excellent standard is truly a blessing. You are one of the good guys providing serious bang for the buck. And I want to personally thank you for that. Your speakers bring me many hours of musical pleasure.

You should note, if you haven’t already, that Tim Smith of 6 moons used the M-lore in reviewing the Coincident Dynamo 34SE, 8 watt SET amp and Line Magnetic 845 amp. Tim Smith is a thorough, stellar reviewer; he owns the M-Lore amongst others.

Finally, I wish you all the success possible, that you will hug your boys again soon. You are in my prayers.

    All the best,
    Mikirob

Unfortunately our legal system favors the mother when it comes to decisions about children. Keep your chin up and get a real good lawyer.

  5. Good luck Eric, your passion in what you do is exemplified in your amazing speakers. They aren’t just boxes with drivers, but musical works of art. I look forward to adding your center, surround and subwoofers to my Enzo main speakers.

  6. Life is truly complex at times. Best to you in resolving this. I wanted to log on and say that I have thoroughly enjoyed my Lore Reference speakers. I listened to a variety of speakers prior to purchase (some Just for fun $$$$). Your speakers hold up to their review praise and are an incredible value comparatively. Would gladly do business with you again!

  7. Lewis daly Says:

Eric, stay positive and continue to define and utilize your true life supports. I am in awe of what owners of your speakers say about them. I am soon to make a speaker purchase and I know who I will be calling. Consider us as true believers of yourself and your artform.
    Regards
    Lewis

  8. Eric
It’s all about how you feel at the end of the day,
And when you grow old it’s all about how you feel you led your life.
Have no regrets if you do the best you can

  9. Hey Eric,

Receiving such praise literally at the time of your worst moment ( I have a young son whom if was taken from me id lose my shit) is terrible. This should have been a time to celebrate your amazing success with your family. Instead everything was taken from you. How can we help find your sons?

Im continually in awe of what people do in this world and get away with. The complacency in your situation by the authorities is appalling.

Thanks so much for building a world class loudspeaker (pendragon owner for 3 years and soon to own the center and surrounds to match), they bring joy to me everyday and if there is anything I can do to help your terrible situation let me know.

im looking fwd. to purchasing more speakers for other areas and i want to ask about capacitor upgrades for my XL. kind regards, andy

  11. Michel Fugère Says:

I received my Pendragons a little over two months now and they are amazing. Best thing I’ve heard in my life. May indulge in a subwoofer in a near future. The grilles are not of an exact fit and may need some modifications which make me wonder If I received the right ones since they where shipped separately

Thank you for sharing and best wishes. One day, justice will prevail.

  12. Hello Eric,

I am sad to hear today 3-08-2015 of your travails. Divorce is bad enough but depriving you of your kids is an evil thing!

I know now why it was over a year and you had not delivered my speakers which back then, I cancelled out of frustration.

I’m happy to see that your back to work and I may possibly order them again down the road. Right now I have 4 different speakers to demo my amps with and have no more room at this time for another pair.

Wish you all the luck and may God bless you in the future.

  13. william fitzgearld Says:

Eric, Having gone through the same kind of situation (also in Washington State) my heart goes out to you and your children. Am so glad for your success and am on pins and needles waiting for my 2.0’s! Best wishes and my God Bless you and yours.
    Bill Fitzgearld

  14. Terry Roth Says:

Keep the faith—-you will prevail. This too shall pass.

  15. Holy criminy. I, and others, have wondered how you could be the positive talk of the audio community, and not be getting your orders out. This explains it. Thanks for your explanation, and honesty.

  16. Eric; I have great things about your speakers, but man to man: you need a better lawyer. Family court is the toughest arena you will ever get into. Going in w/o a GOOD lawyer is like going to a gun fight with a dull knife.

    • Thanks! I’ve got a great Lawyer and I have not lost faith in the FBI. I went to the FBI 2 years into the deal with lock-tight evidence of a conspiracy, massive perjury and cover-up. The FBI refused to investigate because it was a ‘family law’ case. That was a devastating setback at the time but I now see they had no way to help us. I’m now only days away from being able to officially approach the FBI as the ‘family law’ case is wrapping up.

  17. Praying for you my friend – for divine intervention…..I believe in that.

  18. Hi Eric,

This is literally the first time I had seen this post. I believe I had reached out to you in order to get my transducers replaced (cat shredded them?!?) on my Lore’s around this time and got frustrated. I began to read some reviews about orders taking to long, etc. and decided that I would just wait for awhile to pursue buying the replacement transducers. I’m so sorry you have had to go through these challenges. It takes a man with true integrity to confess his truth so I commend you. I’m a small business owner and understand how challenging it can be at times. Anyway, good luck and god willing things will will even out in the end.

    Regards,

    K Hill
